Something RADICAL...

Radical... What does that mean? Literally speaking, radical is defined as, "of or going to the root or origin; fundamental." The word radical derives from the Latin radix, meaning root. It is usually used to imply someone who is extreme, or on the fringe, although if you look at the definition, it's the exact opposite. Some people hurl that word around as though it were an insult. Personally, I embrace it. I like to think that the way I relate to the world is radical - getting back to the roots of humanity, community, family. That is what Jesus promoted, after all. He was called radical, too. I think most folks meant it in a negative light, just as they do now! Things that make you go, "hmm..."

Another book recommendation...

The New Jim Crow, by Michell Alexander. That is all!
