What I've learned...

I have learned that...

MEN fall in love... women GIVE love.

A woman gives up her heart to a man; he accepts it, accepts her, accepts her love.

Sometimes, a man doesn't know how to love. He accepts the woman's heart, but doesn't know what to do with it. Instead of cherishing it, placing it next to his own, caring for it as though it his own... he is careless. He drops it, or kicks it, or throws it, he abuses it. When he does that, he loses it.

So, women, be very careful to whom you give your heart... and if it is being abused, take it back and YOU care for it yourself, until you find someone who is WORTHY.

Deceptively simple, isn't it? I learned it the hard way. But, now I know...

Life goes on!

I haven't posted to my blog since New Year's Day, 2004. My mother passed on New Year's Eve, 2003, I was trying to finish school, and my heart just wasn't into it.

Today, I read my message from AOL that they were discontinuing the blog service, and offered a transfer to Blogger, so here I am.

In the four, almost five, years since my last entry... WOW! Life truly goes on.

My beautiful daughter just turned 19, and is a sophomore in college. She's on a full, academic scholarship, is a member of an honors fraternity (coed, natch), and has just become quite the outstanding young woman. I couldn't be prouder.

I moved to Allentown and have returned to Philly. I did a stint as a teacher in Easton. I've gotten my master's degree, an additional certification, and am working on a third, in ESL. Yes, my love and passion for languages, learning and education continues to burn brightly.

I learned about true love and friendship. I've grown just a bit in wisdom and understanding.

I have a new cat and a new dog. They're my furry babies, all warm and snuggly. I needed them in my life as much as they needed me in theirs (they're rescued furbabies).

So, I'm back. I'll post here from time to time. I want to add to the posts about love, respect, race and so on. I'll try not to let too much time pass between postings.

Heck, I don't have any followers, anyway, so I suppose these are just therapeutic musings anyway!

Ciao for now,
